What to expect

Here's how it goes.

Bring your iPad or tablet in and we'll take a look — it's a flat $60 to diagnose, and that $60 comes off the price of the repair once you give us the go-ahead. We'll confirm whether it's the screen, the battery, the charging port, or something deeper before any work starts, and give you the honest price in person rather than a guess over the phone. Most tablet repairs are done in a day or two, though a less common model may need the right part ordered in first.

Common questions

Common tablet repair questions

Do you repair both iPads and Android tablets?

Both. We work on iPads and most Android tablets — Samsung Galaxy Tab, Amazon Fire, and others. iPads and Samsungs are the ones we see most, and their parts are the easiest to get. With some bargain or off-brand tablets, parts can be hard to find or cost more than the tablet is worth, and if that's the case we'll tell you straight instead of having you spend money that doesn't make sense.

How much will it cost to fix my cracked iPad or tablet screen?

It's a flat $60 to diagnose, and that $60 is credited toward the repair if you go ahead. We don't quote screen prices over the phone — a tablet screen can look the same from the outside but be very different to fix inside, so a guess wouldn't be honest. One thing worth knowing up front: tablet screens are larger and can cost more than a phone screen, and on older models the repair can run close to the price of a replacement. We'll lay all of that out before you commit to anything.

Will I lose my photos and apps if you replace my screen or battery?

A screen, battery, or charging-port repair normally doesn't touch what's on your tablet — your photos and apps stay put. That said, we can't make promises about data on any device, so we always recommend backing up to iCloud or Google first, just in case. If your tablet won't power on at all and getting the files off is the real goal, that's data recovery, and we'll talk through what's realistic before you spend anything.

How long does a tablet repair take?

Most tablet repairs are done in a day or two. If your model is less common and we need to order the correct part, it can take a little longer — we'll give you a realistic timeframe when you drop it off. You're welcome to walk in during business hours, Monday through Friday 9 to 5:30, no appointment needed, or call us at (574) 337-7557.

Is it worth repairing my older tablet, or should I just buy a new one?

Sometimes yes, sometimes no — and we'll give you the honest answer. A newer iPad with just a cracked screen is almost always worth fixing; a very old tablet with a worn-out battery and a broken charging port can cost more to repair than it's worth. That's exactly what the $60 diagnostic buys you: a real look and a straight recommendation, even when the recommendation is that this one isn't worth fixing.

Whatever broke, we’ve probably seen it. Let’s take a look.

We don’t price repairs over the phone — we look first, so the number’s real. The $60 to look comes right off your repair, and walk-ins are always welcome. Look for the blue door with the stairs on the left side of the parking lot — knock if it’s locked, we’re here.
