At the shop
Drop it off.
Laptops, desktops, Macs, Chromebooks, monitors, consoles. It all starts the same way.
Diagnostic
A hands-on look and a plain-English answer about what is actually wrong. Your answer within 5 business days, usually sooner. If you go ahead with the repair, the $60 comes right off it.
Priority diagnostic
Same look, but ahead of every standard job, so a busy week cannot push you back. Pick it when you book or at the counter.
Repairs
Screens, batteries, keyboards, drives, boards: the price depends on your exact model and part, so we quote it after the diagnostic and you approve it before any work starts. Backed by a 90-day warranty on parts and labor (30 days on special-order parts). Data recovery and board-level work start with the same $60 look, then you get the honest odds before going further; that work is best-effort, so the warranty covers repairs, not recovery.
We come to you, or connect in
Can’t make it to the shop?
Flat prices here too. Your exact total shows in the booking flow before you commit.
On-site visit
We come to your home or business: Wi-Fi, printers, networks, setups. The $149 covers the trip and the first hour, which is most visits. Past the hour it is $30 per 15 minutes, and we tell you before we go there. A next-day slot or a weekend adds $49. Printers are on-site work too.
Remote session
You start Windows’ own Quick Assist and watch every step. Flat per session, covering up to an hour. No fix, no charge: if we cannot fix it remotely, the session is free. Priority (front of today’s queue) or a weekend slot adds $49.
Pickup & return
We collect the computer, fix it at the shop, and bring it back. The $39 covers the trip and the $60 diagnostic works exactly as it does at the counter. Your exact price shows before you book.

The honest part
What we don’t put a number on.
The repair itself. A screen, a battery, a keyboard, an SSD or a board repair depends on your exact model and the part it takes, so any price we printed here would be a guess, and a guess before we have seen the machine is not an honest number. For the flat $60 we find out exactly what it needs, quote it in plain words, and you approve it before any work starts. If the honest answer is that it is not worth fixing, you hear that for the same $60, and we help you figure out what comes next.

Pricing questions
Why isn’t the diagnostic free?
Because the diagnostic is the work: a real, hands-on look at the device and a straight answer about what is wrong, in plain English, instead of a sales pitch. We do not quote repair prices over the phone, because a guess before we have seen it would not be honest. The flat $60 covers us actually looking, and it comes right off the repair if you go ahead, so finding out never costs you extra. Decide not to fix it, and you only ever paid the $60 and walk out knowing what is going on. SBCR members get free diagnostics on every repair.
Do I still pay if you can’t fix it?
The $60 diagnostic is the one charge that stands on its own. It pays for us to examine the device and tell you honestly what it would take, and it applies even when the news is bad, because the straight answer, including “this one isn’t worth fixing”, is the work itself. Beyond that, nothing: repairs are quoted first and you approve the price before any work starts, so if the answer is no, you only ever paid the $60. Remote sessions are the exception in your favor: no fix, no charge. If we connect and cannot fix it remotely, the session is free, and if it then comes to the bench the normal diagnostic applies and is credited to the repair.
How do you compare to Geek Squad or a big-box repair counter?
We will only speak for ourselves. We are a locally owned shop on Arnold St, and the person who looks at your computer is the person you talk to. The diagnostic is a flat $60 that comes off the repair, you hear the full price before any work starts, and nothing gets added on afterward. We tell you when a machine is not worth fixing instead of selling you the repair, we go deeper than most shops with board-level diagnostics, repairs carry a 90-day warranty on parts and labor (30 days on special-order parts), and walk-ins are welcome.
Why don’t you list a price for a screen, a battery or an SSD?
Because the part depends on your exact model, and two laptops that look alike can take screens or batteries that cost very different amounts. A number on this page would be a guess, and we would rather give you the real one. For the flat $60 we confirm what the machine needs and quote it before anything is ordered, with the $60 already credited. The one thing we will tell you over the phone is whether it is likely worth bringing in.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. You hear the full price before we touch anything, and nothing gets added on afterward. The only extras are ones you choose: priority, which is $109 for the diagnostic instead of $60, or $49 on top of a remote session or an on-site visit for a next-day or weekend slot, on-site time past the first hour at $30 per 15 minutes (we tell you before we go there), and parts you approve in the quote.

Know what it costs before you walk in. Then just walk in.
Our flat prices are posted on the pricing page. The one thing we never guess at is the repair itself: we look first ($60, credited to your repair), then you get a real number before any work starts. Walk in, book a time, or text us a photo of what’s wrong. Look for the black door with our logo on it, straight ahead when you pull in, up the steps; knock if it’s locked, we’re here.
