Printer repair & setup

Printer showing offline, jamming, streaking, or just refusing to talk to the new computer? Bring it in — we work on the everyday home and office printers: HP, Brother, Canon, Epson and more. It’s the same printer work we’ve been trusted with by the University of Notre Dame and Bethel University.

Setup and repair are both flat rates — you know the exact price before we touch a thing (it’s right in the booking flow, or ask when you call). And if the fix costs more than the printer is worth, we’ll say so and help you pick a replacement that won’t nickel-and-dime you on ink.

What to expect

Here's how it goes.

Bring the printer (cable too)

Tell us what it's doing. Setup and repair are both flat rates, quoted before we start.

Working on your Wi-Fi

We get it printing, copying, and scanning on your network and your computers before you pick it up.

The honest stop rule

If the fix costs more than the printer is honestly worth, we stop and tell you. Most printers turn around a day or two after you approve the fix.

Common questions

Common printer repair questions

My printer says offline even though it's right there - can you fix that?

Yes, that's one of the most common things we see. 'Offline' usually means the printer and the computer stopped talking - a Wi-Fi change, a Windows update, or a driver that quietly broke. Bring in the printer, or the printer and the laptop together, and we'll have them talking again. If it's a settings problem rather than a broken part, it lands under the flat setup rate.

Is my printer even worth fixing?

Sometimes no, and we'll say so. A bargain inkjet with a dead printhead usually isn't worth a repair, and we'd rather tell you that up front and help you pick a replacement that's cheap to run. Office-class lasers and better inkjets are usually well worth fixing. Either way you get a straight answer before any money changes hands.

What brands do you work on?

The everyday home and office names - HP, Brother, Canon, Epson, and most others that come across the counter. We work on regular document printers and all-in-ones. The one thing we don't touch is 3D printers - different machines, different shop.

Can you set up a new printer I just bought?

Absolutely - that's the flat setup rate, quoted before we start. We unbox it, get it on your Wi-Fi, connect your computers and phones, make sure scan-to-email works, and show you how to put paper and ink in without a fight. Bring your laptop along and it all leaves working together.

The prints come out streaky or faded - is that ink or something broken?

Could be either, and that's what we figure out. Streaks are often a clogged printhead or a drum wearing out, faded prints can be ink, toner, or settings. We'll tell you which it is, what the flat repair rate covers, and whether new cartridges alone would have solved it - because nobody should pay for a repair that a $30 cartridge would have fixed.

Whatever broke, we’ve probably seen it. Let’s take a look.

We don’t price repairs over the phone. We look first, so the number’s real. The $60 to look comes right off your repair, and walk-ins are always welcome. Look for the blue door with the stairs on the left side of the parking lot, and knock if it’s locked, we’re here.
